Yorkshire-born storyteller Kelly Jackson spent twenty-five years in marketing before the ideas whispering in her head refused to stay quiet. Growing up in a household of books and ghost stories, she always gravitated toward tales that unsettled as much as they entertained.

Her debut novel, Through Despair, blends supernatural suspense with police-procedural grit — a combination that earned her a Finalist place in the Jericho Writers First 500 competition in 2024 and the top prize at the Leeds Writing Festival in 2025.

When she’s not writing, Kelly can be found prowling art galleries, walking the Yorkshire Dales, and insisting that the best horror is always the kind that lives quietly in familiar places. A second novel is already taking shape.
